I am also going to take choir and probably band again. This is going to be a busy busy year. I am very much looking forward to it. If I feel like I can not keep up, the first class I am going to drop is the programming class. The others are needed in order for me to graduate and transfer.

Something you’re proud of in the past few days

This is very hard for me. I can not think of anything I am especially proud of in the past few days. I've gone to school, church, band, Modesto High School Band, and Melina's house last night. I guess I cleaned up the bedroom and bathroom on Thursday night. I got a little bit of homework done yesterday and I am continuing that today.

Sunday, October 10, 2010

I think working with the Modesto High band has helped me expand as a person. I have been defining some skills that I'm sure I have always possessed. I would have benefited greatly at Disney had I known I held this kind of power within myself. I had to fight with every single manager to gain ground in anything I felt strongly about. I sometimes think about what would happen if I had stronger rebuttals (as I think I do now) or if I had backed off completely. If I approached every person without fear and with an open heart, how would things be?

Working with the band, I am learning a balance of being a leader and a friend. How to develop and live off of that fine line between using an example

Hello Dolly and Train Wrecks

Things are better for the moment being. Carol Channing was amazing last night. For those who don't know, Carol Channing sang "Hello Dolly" with Mo Band last night. She is such a doll, she is so cute. After the concert, Mickalyn and I went out with about 10 other people to Lyons. And after we were done, we realized Carol was in there too! She came over and we talked for a few minutes. She is just so sweet, I can't get over her. So I guess I can die now, I've performed and eaten in the same restaurant as Carol Channing.
Then on the way home, Mickalyn and I couldn't go home. We live on the West-Side, meaning "on the other side of the tracks." But I'm guessing there was some sort of train wreck and all of the streets in downtown were closed, and we didn't know if we could go home. I mean it was hecka late and everything too. But we finally found a way through and got home all safe and sound.
Hey guess what? This is the first entry I'm making from my laptop. Um..I was going to say something else too, but I can't remember it...hum. Ok, c ya all. luv ya, you've been a wonderful audience.

Adventures of Black and White

Hee hee. Dude, just cause the summer is here doesn't mean the old married couple of the band give it a rest. Nope, Mickalyn and I stayed up past 2 last night playing online gin. Ah, how the times have changed. So we were online yesterday at like 1 in the afternoon and she asks me if I wanna do Mo-Band, so I'm like sure, ya know me, get me out of the house with my best bud. So we go and its all good and all. Then today, when we got to the concert, a police person lady came up to us and asked if we were withe the Modesto band. So we were like yeah, and she said she got a call from a girl who's ride had slipped through and would be waiting at the bus stop at College and Morris. So Mickalyn and I of course, volunteer to go pick up this gal. But when we got there, we were hecka early, so we waited and when we were about to leave, her bus stops and we chase her down the street. I don't think she was really expecting anyone to have come to get her. So she said she was taking her final in court and it had run late and just the normal chit chat stuff. So that was our adventure or the day and I'm waiting for Mick. to come on for another game, but, I guess she if doing something else, so I think I'm gonna go to bed, night all.

Harry Potter, Last Band Concert

Man what a day, and the night is young. Aw man. They released the new Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban tracks online and the music even more amazing then the last two albums (which I own both of). I missed turning in a project and missed an exam today, bad me. What ever, there is always Monday to worry about all that stuff. So concert tonight and it is the last one of my high school career.

Graduating soon

OMG!! I'm graduating in less than a month and I have no idea what I'm going to do. Mickalyn is going to Alabama and then I know other people who are leaving and I don't know what I'm going to do. She and I have been together since freshman year and we are the married couple of the band. I swear. We are like twins or something. I don't know what I'm going to do.
I was at the girls Bible study last night and there was only 4 of us there and I was remembering the times I met all of those girls when I  first met them and how I would give anything to have those days back. Free summer days at Calvin Crest. I'm not a fan of the actual place, but I miss that first week I really started to hang out with all of them. I miss everything it seems.

Easter, Sea World

Yeah, so today is Easter and my family went back to our old church in Fremont this morning.  It's really sad because my dad had to work today and we went and visited his side of the family. I really miss him sometimes.
So, yeah, we also leave for San Diego this Wed. Well, Mickalyn and I are leaving on Tuesday and going to LA so HAHA to all of you who have to get up at like 5 in the morning on Wed.. Oh, and if you are going, bring an extra $30 cause if you do, we are going to Sea World and if we don't, I'll cry and get all depressed and probably die. If you don't know my passion in life already, dude, you don't know me at all, get a clue people.

A Break

K, so the concert was all good an all, actually i think it really sucked. I mean it wasn't bad or anything. I'm just hitting that point of my senior year where everything sucks. Nothing is what it seems. Everything is changing and the times can not be changed.
It's one of those days I want to go out to enjoy the sun and not have a care in the world. But I've got San Diego to worry about and my last few weeks in high school. Then, i got Fever to worry about and then I get to begin school over again. Just a never ending circle of events leading to another. It's not bad or anything, just I never get to hang out with all of my friends outside of school or school related activities. I need a break!!!Is it coming soon???
I also feel really bad cause I haven't been to church in like 3 weeks and won't be going for another 3 weeks. It's actually nice to get a break from there. You guys rock, really.

Disney Fever

Hey people!! I just got back from Disneyland yesterday, and lets just say I finally grew up. It was fun and all and I hung out with my sisters and cousin and such, but all of the thrill I remember is all just a memory. Y
AY!!! I have a concert with my own 8 measure solo. I hope I don't mess it up.
You learn something new every day. This past weekend, I was in charge of three other people and I dug up some of my leadership characteristics from marching season when I was the section leader for the clarinets. Ah, those girls gave me such a challenge and the greatest reward a senior could ask for.
K, now my mom is about to pull me from Fever because she thinks I have an eating problem and doesn't trust I'll eat away from home...whats that all about???
K, gotta go get ready for tonight. I love people and its not fair she got the purple car...inside joke

Percussion, Traveling

OK, so the competition went as well as could be expected. MP totally screwed up in prelims and KICKED BUTT in finals. (except the cursed Beyer...) Oh, well. Concert percussion did an ok job. It was not perfect but not horrible. Just average. YAY, I'm going to Disneyland in 6 days!! Too bad Cindy can't come. And I'm really bummed I cant go to the all city concert festival.. Oh, well I never really liked it anyway.
Dude, Mickalyn is going to be gone from Wed. to next Tues, Cindy is gone Thurs. and Fri. I'm leaving Sat. night at midnight and wont be back til next Tues. Then we'll all be in Diego for percussion.

Music

YAY!!! It's sunny, the birds are chirping, the daffies are going*mrah*, and the music once again lives in the realm of the band room.

Thanks everyone who have been putting up with me and my thoughts these past few weeks. It has been stressful for everyone and I think we have come out of this bad situation stronger than before.
It is really peaceful right now. Some of our neighbors are raising peacocks, and I can hear them through the warm evening...
I finally got my new pair of shoes today, as well as Cindy's B-Day present, Sshhhhhhh, I can't tell you yet, but you will see it tomorrow at school. MONKEYS!!!!

Liars

Ya know, I really hate false truths and liars. No this is not directed to anyone because I do not know the person I am directing this message to. I know, it makes no sense what-so-ever, but it is the truth. So don't lie. It's just wrong. And then ya never know who or what to believe. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you do not go to Modesto High and are not part of the band community. And actually, it has nothing to do with rumors either, come to think of it. Well, not the "band-rumors" that have all collided and washed this program down the drain.  Do not believe anyone.

Band, Mexico

Percussion on Saturday was amazing. The performance part could have been a bit better. For full information of scores, check out www.wgi.org.  I really hope we get bumped up to open class. Many hope not, but I think we can handle it. (Or at least I could).  I really wished I could have watched some more groups. I watch to learn and because I love percussion music. For those who know me, I absolutely love watching percussion groups. Even more than marching band. And those who know me know I am a marching band fanatic. So take marching band and times that by like a million and a half; that is how much I love percussion. It is my next love next to killer whales.

And spring is 21 days away!!!YAY!!! Dude, I can not stand winter, It's too cold, and wet. I love the summer days. Except this summer, I will be enjoying it in a new way. Considering I will not be here for like a month. I will be on tour with Fever, and for those who know my parents, they are just thrilled. Practice 6 days a week. Well at least, my birthday falls on a Monday and I get it off. So what should I do? Oh, that reminds me, my parents will not let me go to Mexico this year. It is really sad because Cindy and I met in Mexico out first year there. "Cheetos never prosper!!!" -Mexico, 2002. I also spent my last three birthdays in Mexico. Man now I'm really bummed. Dude, Mexico was one of the things I looked forward to every year. It was also like this big "Cindy-and Kelsey-Bonding-Time" Like this past summer, a bunch
