End of the Semester

A little over a month ago, I signed up for my last semester at MJC. My last semester and I will be graduating with my AA in Language Studies. I am taking one class for my GE in the spring, but the rest of my classes are major related, so I am very excited.

Emphasis on cultural identity, relationships, stereotyping, prejudice, nonverbal and verbal cues, values, beliefs, and norms.

This is more than a full load. Full time is 12 units. The maximum that MJC allows a student to take is 18 units. I got approval to take these 20 units. This will be the third semester in a row that I'll be taking 6 classes, but these ones add up to more units. I also will be on campus a little less than I am now and my work schedule will open up. More school, more work.
I am taking so many classes because as a psychology major, certain universities require certain classes to be completed before admission is granted. All California State Universities (CSU) require the completion of History 101 and 102. Every school I've applied to except for one require stats, a few want Psych 102, others want the 141. I gotta keep every one happy and keep my options open.
I've applied to 6 universities. I have a feeling I'll get into at least one of the universities I applied to.
Ryne is defiantly a factor in where I end up going to school. We've only been together for 4 months, but he and I both know this is a serious, long term relationship. We are in this for the long haul. I really don't want anyone to think I am basing my decision on a university on him, but he is a factor. He and I both have had our fair share of unhealthy relationships in the past, we know that we are in a strong, committed, healthy relationship.

This semester has been the hardest I've ever had to deal with. The work as not been especially difficult, nor have I had a problem managing me time. Quite the opposite has been my problem. I am in all GE classes, lower division classes, filled with students who are just barley out of high school, so there was a lot of screwing around and disrespectfulness in my Spanish class, and people who asked really stupid questions in my speech and biology classes. It was really frustrating, I felt like a lot of my time got wasted, and there was nothing I could do about it.
In addition to that, my speech professor passed away a little more than a week ago, so that class got a bit chaotic for a few days, plus the initial shock of his passing at such an early age.
I spent most of my semester begging for shifts every week. I was scheduled maybe 1-3 days a week. If I could work 3-4 days, I'd have been so much better off. I was available 6 days a week ad I kept getting scheduled on the only day I requested off every week. So I did not end up getting to be with my junior high girls very much. I really miss our small group time together. I do get to go to Hume Lake with them in January/February, and Elizabeth and I are planning something for New Years, maybe a sleep over ^_^
Overall, school was not that much fun, work stresses me out constantly, leading to church stress, relationship is wonderful, so happy with that <3

Party

YAY! I went to two parties today. The first was Mickalyn's graduation. It was so beautiful, it was outside and the weather was great. There was food and it was terrific. it was sooo good! So yeah, she got  me a charm bracelet and I got her a cookie scented candle. Then as soon as I got home, I went to Ryan's 10th b-day party at Manteca Water Slides. Can you believe I had never been there til today? So I hung out with Bri the whole time, which was awesome! Then came home and updated my xanga...

Almost There

Cheese, I can't remember the last time I was this tired! So graduation was fun and all I guess. I mean, I sit there cracking joked the whole time and walk while my name is announced to the world in which no one cares. But Caleb, Cindy and Brianna came over after and that totally rocked! It was a ton of fun, even if you didn't have fun, I did!
So then after getting to bed at like 1 in the morning, our family went up to Yosemite today. It was...fun...entertaining...um more along the lone of a simple family outing I guess. I hate driving in the mountains, cause if I don't think right, I get that car sick feeling. I don't get car sick, I just feel like it. But we got there and ate, but the cool thing was the squirrels were so tame. I was sharing my sandwich with one of three and he/she came within 6 inches of my feet! It was so cool, and they were soooo cute! So then we went through the visitors center and blah blah. Then we went up to the falls and Nina and I climbed to the base of the falls! I kept asking her if she wanted to go back cause the rocks were getting really slippery and steep. But she said "No! we have to keep going to the top!" So she and I made it, slowly but we did it. Many people were telling us she wouldn't make it, but she wouldn't go back. Determined is she, I'm so proud of her!

Graduation Day

Dude, I'm graduating today, how weird is that? my great grandmother told me last night she was the first person to see me when I came home right after I was born. And now she's seeing me graduate. Oh man, we are gonna have so much fun tonight. I'm not going to Grad Bash, cause I'm lame, but Cindy, Caleb and Bianna are coming over. Sweet. So we got movies, a ton of food, nothing to do tomorrow. K, I lied, my family is going up to Yosemite tomorrow. I haven't been there in like 2 years, so it will be fun. Except none of my friends can come. Oh, well, guess I'll have to get lost all by my self.

Music, for thought

I had the weirdest dream I was in Fever and man, don't I wish it came true. I'm not sure if anyone can really understand how hard it was for me to admit I couldn't do it this year. I had such a blast doing it while I could, but there are too many things happening in my life that won't allow me the honors. I have a friend I'm hoping to spend some time with this summer because I'm fearing her life is coming to an end. She lost almost all of her friends these past two years or so and I just want to be there for her while I can. Then I really need to continue finding a job because even though I'm just going to JC, my parents have made it clear that they are mot going to help me financially in any way. So, I  have to pay for that and attempt to get myself my license, because they won't do that either. So I'm mostly going to be on my own this summer with no one to help me. Plus, like I could afford Fever with a list like that on top. I mean, I will probably find time to do other things this summer, like going to Mexico with my church and somethings a little more tame to do.
If I could give up anything to do it, I would, please someone understand this. This is not really my choice, but I have to get my life and together. Music is something I love to do, but I'm not good enough at it. I got myself involved in so many things, hoping it would help me improve in some way. But nothing has come out of it except a damaged friendship and a lost cause. I could never take it up as a career, because my parents and I both know I'm not that good. They could never afford to get me lessons or anything else. They get bugged when I have to ask them for reeds or anything related to that. I mean with the career I'm trying to get myself into, I'm going to be poor as it is cause trainers don't get paid a lot as far as I'm concerned.
Well I could talk about the rain, cause I don't think anyone is reading this anymore. I usually hate the rain because it is so cold and I hate the cold. I'm always cold. Even in the summer I get cold. But the rain last night was so wonderful, it reminded me of the rain in Hawaii. Those times are perhaps the most magical places in the world. The warm feeling of small specks of water dancing to the rhythm of the wind and moving water. I went out to the balcony and just looked up to the wonders of the universe and just dreamed of the times to come, what ever they might bring and where ever they take us. Then, a sense of loneliness swept over me and carried me into the shelters.
So one of the last dreams of mine for completing my high school career was doing Fever and then I had a dream of it happening and so I got all depressed today. But I got an A on my notebook for economics and took my last test in the class. It was slightly less then perfect, but then so am I. I guess I should probably turn in the book, but I still have 15 minutes til the bell rings and then  I just go to math, the class in which I hold the highest grade.
I think one of the scariest thoughts is I might only be taking one music class in college, if even that. I've have dedicated my whole life to it for 8 years and this is coming to an end.
Oh, David isn't coming back to Modesto High this year or next year. He is going onto independent studies so he can concentrate most of his time to his health. His health was so bad this year, his doctors are putting him on to this program. So don't know when you see him again. But I see him every day, so I really am not affected by this.
And if you really care, my dad's dad, my grandfather went into the hospital for the fifth time in a and a half weeks the other day, so if you could keep him in mind, I'm sure many will be thankful for that. My grandma has been so lonely these past few days and weeks, so yeah.
Cheese, I guess this is what I get for losing my diary, you get to read my incredibly boring life and I think like three people even care to begin with so C ya later people. Thanks for reading!

Calling to me

In case some of you can't tell, I've been insanely homesick. That is for the islands. I've been to Hawaii twice and fell in love. (With the islands). I've been really thinking about transferring to college there in two or so years. It has gotten so bad these past few weeks, I'm even learning Hawaiian in my "free time." I already know some words and phrases, but seldom use them, cause that would just be stupid. But I think it hit the hardest today. I've been doing so much homework, sleeping so little and listening to so much music, keeping minimal contact with even the people in my house. I'm not sure how to describe it. the feeling is so strong now, everything seems temporary. It's not going to last and a change like this is welcome. I'm not really a nice person to be around when change is in the air, but this (I think) is the key. To what? Not even I know.
I bought the shoes I'm going to wear with my dress for graduation. The dress is a light green and white, and the shoes match it perfectly!!!
And this albun is my new favorite, I cant stop listening to it. It really rocks!!!

Graduating soon

OMG!! I'm graduating in less than a month and I have no idea what I'm going to do. Mickalyn is going to Alabama and then I know other people who are leaving and I don't know what I'm going to do. She and I have been together since freshman year and we are the married couple of the band. I swear. We are like twins or something. I don't know what I'm going to do.
I was at the girls Bible study last night and there was only 4 of us there and I was remembering the times I met all of those girls when I  first met them and how I would give anything to have those days back. Free summer days at Calvin Crest. I'm not a fan of the actual place, but I miss that first week I really started to hang out with all of them. I miss everything it seems.
